PERSONAL HISTORY

John C. Sheridan IV, P.E., S.E., is president of The Sheridan Corporation.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1980 and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a specialty in Structural Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1981, Mr. Sheridan joined his family’s consulting engineering firm specializing in structural engineering projects.

His projects include the design and inspection of marine/waterfront structures, the design and inspection of building structures, condition assessment and strength evaluation of existing structures, and seismic studies of existing buildings.

Mr. Sheridan is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and New York. He is a registered Structural Engineer (S.E.) in Illinois.

Mr. Sheridan is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Steel Structures Committee (Committee 15) of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the Civil Engineers Club of Charleston, South Carolina.
